100 years before the events of "Breath of the Wild", citizens of Hyrule and its surrounding domains were living through a civil war known as the "calamity".
With respect to the war, Link and his companions first encounter the man responsible for resurrecting Ganon when they travel to Korok Forest.
Although he was previously known as a fortune teller, Astor becomes the man responsible for resurrecting Calamity Ganon- ultimately transforming the kingdom of Hyrule into a Dystopian Wasteland.
Astor believed the return of Ganon would be the best option for the kingdom of Hyrule. However, Hyrule is ultimately destroyed (for the most part) and Link is mortally wounded during his efforts to stop Ganon, and his evil forces.
Here's a screenshot I took of Link equipped with the Hylian outfit, as well as the Master Sword, and Hylian shield.
With that in mind, 2020's "Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity" is a fun game for the Nintendo Switch.
When players first encounter Astor (Prophet of Doom, as he calls himself), they are tasked with using the Master Sword to defeat him and his "hollows". I have been playing "Breath of the Wild" as well, but I'm glad this game exists. More specifically, it's fascinating to see exactly what transpired prior to the events of the 2017 masterpiece.
Have you considered playing this game?
