Within the last week or so, I first interacted with fellow writer Arthur Ni. Arthur and I met through twitter, and have been reading each other's work. Today, my blog post is going to be a little different.
As the owner of #themodernistson, I usually focus on gaming and urban legends. However, the "book review" aspect of this team is often reserved for my girlfriend, bookshelfies.
In terms of this blog post being different, Arthur Ni's short story "The Henderson House" features the paranormal, so that's why I'm going to talk about it.
I'm pretty sure this cat sees something I cannot.
Ever since I was a kid, I have been fascinated by the unexplained. The issue of returning to this world as a spirit beyond our mortal bodies, that has always interested me.
In terms of Ni's first published short story, he's pretty spot on with the supernatural tropes: be it the fear of darkness from Lovecraft, or the concept of the unknown from King. Personally, I think Arthur Ni is on the right track.
