One definition of an "apparition" refers to the image, or ghost-like image of a person. In the world of paranormal investigations, there are several different terms going around to describe specific types of spirits. For instance, a "poltergeist" which is German for "noisey ghost" often attaches itself to a specific person and feeds off their energy.
For those that study the paranormal, one of the first things you learn is: Anne Boleyn is the most famous ghost- ever. She was Queen of England from 1533 to 1536, until her husband (Henry VIII) ordered she be executed. With respect to the term "apparition", these ghosts sometimes appear as "headless"- given the nature of their death.
Since her death in 1536, Anne Boleyn's headless apparition has been spotted running around Winsor Castle, especially in the more dated parts of the castle grounds. Today, I was able to continue working on "The Hauntings of Honeywell Falls" through the "wicked weekly word prompt". This time, the keyword was "apparition".

Here's the passage:
Despite his drunkenness, Alysh gingerly stumbled towards the old grandfather clock at the far corner of the room.
"Right here, Harvey. This where I saw that damned apparition. Spawn of Satan, or some shit like that. Then you two came in... So, wanna look for it? As a team this time."
